Welcome to the ERC Legal Information Archive (LIA)

Under Section 43 of the Electric Power Industry Reform Act of 2001 (R.A. 9136 or the EPIRA), the ERC is tasked to promote competition, encourage market development, ensure customer choice and penalize abuse of market power in the electricity industry.  The ERC also regulates the rates of the 140 distribution utilities and single transmission corporation of the country in view of its mandate to promote and protect consumer interest.

The ERC has come up with this LIA as an innovative way to provide easy access to its official issuances, including its Resolutions and Rules, Decisions and Orders. With the ERC LIA, the researcher may view and search through the full-text of these documents, and even reference readily the laws, rules and Supreme Court decisions cited within the document.

The researcher may use Advance Search to access issuances through its title, number or type of issuance. Examples of search techniques can be viewed by clicking on the Search Techniques link.

As of 31 March 2013, the ERC Legal Information Archive has made available the Decisions and Orders issued in 2013, 2012 and 2011 (5, 000 pages of information). The Resolutions and Rules, Decisions, Orders and other official issuances issued in 2001 to 2010 shall soon be included. Thus, the goal of the ERC to provide a one-stop portal for research will become a reality in the near future.

Feedback and suggestions on the ERC LIA may be sent to webmaster@erc.gov.ph.
